Nós Nua Youth Folk Orchestra

An Irish folk music ensemble based in Oriel, Ireland. The orchestra is a collaboration between Music Generation Louth and the regional centre, Oriel Centre, Dundalk Gaol and funded through the Arts Council of Ireland’s Young Ensemble Scheme. The studio recording was funded through the Creativity and Collaboration Fund which is co-funded by Music Generation/Arts Council and the Department of Education.

CAUSEWAY – Debut Album

CAUSEWAY tells the story of one of the ancient myths that has connected Scotland to Ireland for thousands of years – The Giant’s Causeway. The suite comprises 10 movements and tells the story of the encounter between two fierce giants and Finn’s wife Úna, the true hero of the story. Once upon a time there were two giants, Irish giant Finn McCool (or Fionn Mac Cumhaill) and Scottish giant Benandonner. Benandonner regularly insulted Finn and threatened Ireland so Finn decided to challenge Benandonner to resolve the situation once and for all. There was one problem, how would he get to Scotland?
